Kotor 1 keeps crashing after a few minutes.?

after a while I found my copy of kotor 1 and felt nostalgic and decided to play it. BUt within 2 minutes it crashed. I scanned the hardware and it said i failed the system requirements for the video card even though I have a Nvidia 9500 GT. It also say that my card is out of date and that I need detonator 45.23 drivers or better. Any thoughts on how to help?
