Why does today's music have no lifespan, like the 70's 80's some 90's?

You might not be listening to the right music. Third Eye Blind still gets people up and going, they're a 90's band. Red Hot Chili Peppers started in the late 80's, people still love their old songs. I could probably name a hundred more.
